Pumpkin Pictures

Isaac understands the pumpkin pictures. He was the one who told me we needed to go out and take them.

To even get Beckam to sit down by the pumpkins I had to give him candy.

But he still wouldn't wear the hat.

Isaac loves doing the self-timer.

As you can see Beckam just didn't want to wear the hat. He's bucking one of the few Halloween traditions I can actually manage here.

Saturday the 25th- houston zoo and the red onion

On Saturday morning we got up and took Pp and Sara to get donuts on the way to the zoo. There are so many donut shops here it, well it's crazy! But they are really good, I think Pp and Sara enjoyed them. Then we went to the zoo were it was Halloween day but we didn't know and so we didn't dress up the kids. Which was lucky for them, it was kind of a warm day, and I was a little worried about some of the kids we saw. They looked like they were for sure going to pass out before the day was over. But there were some fun Halloween things going on that the boys did participate in. The Houston zoo has some pretty cool animals I have never seen anywhere else. I asked Isaac the other day what his favorite animal at the zoo had been and he told me he didn't know, but that we wanted to go back and one of those green ice treats again. Go figure you take your kids to the zoo to see the animals and the most memorable part is the sugar you let them have while there. Although I have to say I quite enjoyed the lemonade I got at the zoo.

This is my favorite animal at the zoo. I think he's called a forest giraffe. We even saw one with horns which made them even cooler looking. The boys quite liked him too because he liked to stick his very long tongue out.

Isaac loves his shark shades because he can put them up on his head like mom and dad do with their glasses.

Beckam was getting just a little grummpy near the end of the trip so we decided to make one last stop and then leave. Of course he fell asleep at that one last stop. So he and I hung out in the shade while everyone else went to see the monkeys that we had skipped because Beckam hadn't seemed up to it.

After we took a little break at home we took them to eat at one of our favorite places, the red onion. Yum!

The next morning (after a horrible night with four of us in the same bed and only two of us wanting to sleep). Sam took his mom and sister to the airport. We had lots of fun thank you Pp and Sara. We miss them already, and are already looking forward to our Utah visit for Thanksgiving.

21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th

Tuesday the 21st we took Pp and Sara to the galleria mall. Sam wanted to take them ice skating. It was lots of fun.

Wednesday the 22nd we met Sam at work at end of the day. So that he could show his mom and sister around I think they were pretty impressed. That night we went to California Pizza Kitchen at the Memorial mall so that Isaac could have his honey chicken pizza. It poured rain the whole way to dinner all through dinner. It let up just long enough to almost let us get into the car and then poured the entire way home were it stopped as soon as we entered the neighborhood. Sam had to stop and get gas on the way home. He called before he got home and I answered the phone and he said he was just calling to make sure we hadn't got struck by lightening. I kind of laughed and said no we just got home why? He then told me he just had. That the gas station were he had filled up the car was struck by lightening while he was there. And to be more exact the awning over the pump he was using was what got struck by lightening. He said it felt like his whole body wanted to throw up not just his stomach. Sounds nice huh?

Thursday the 23rd. Sam left town for San Antonio until Friday night. So we got lots of shopping trips in. In the morning we went to Ikea. Then in the evening after a quick stop at home went to Katy Mills outlet mall.

Friday the 22nd we continued our shopping at Memorial City mall. And then that night before Sam got home we went over to La Centera and had dinner and got cookies. (Does that make some kind of record for most malls visited in the shortest amount of time.) That night after Sam got home much to the boys relief we finally carved our pumpkins. And we even made carmel apples which I had never done before but was jealous of Griffeth's so we had to try. They turned out really yummy.

Sara, Sam, Isaac, and I took the job of gutting pumpkins. Isaac thought it was pretty cool and made sure to help with everyone's pumpkins.

Beckam took on the job of the carmel apples with Pp's help of course. I'm still eating them. You think we made enough.

My camera died and I didn't get Sara's pictures of the pumpkins when we were done. I have taken some picture since but you will have to wait till I get to that post to see them.

Monday 20th- dewberry farms, pizza, and minature golf

Lucky for us the week before the trip to Dewberry Farms got rained out so it was rescheduled for the Monday that Sara and Pp were here. We had lots of fun. I was sad we weren't going to be able to take the boys to Thanksgiving Point to Cornbelly's this year. But we have found a very good alternative.

Here we are at Dewberry farms. Hey had a huge fun playground complete with a fireman pole to slide.

The boys were able to find the perfect pumpkins. Isaac's had lots of crazy bumps. Beckam's had a really cool stem and was a gorgeous color.

Then we all went on the tractor ride were we got to ride in ears of corn.

Isaac rode the big bike. It was kind of tricky to pedal and steer and the same time. Beckam wore Pp out by getting a push the whole way around the track.

Then we were off to see the crazy goats that climbed up big ramps. The boys thought it was pretty cool. Of course we had to feed them a little too.

Then we went into the barn. Beckam loved all the animals!! He chased the chickens all over the barn.

One of Isaac's favorites had to be the duck race. He did it about 10 times.

The boys went crazy with the pumpkins. They found a wheel barrel and just kept on loading it up. This was Isaac's original choice of pumpkin but as you can see we decided it was just a tad on the large side. We still found plenty cool ones to bring home. Needless to say we had tons of fun!!


That evening we went to a cute little pizza place close to our house and then ended the night with a round of miniature golf. I think this was my favorite day of the trip . We had lots of fun!

Sunday 19th- haunted house and colored pumpkins

Sunday evening we decide to make the haunted house that aunt Sara found on our shopping trip to Target the night before. We also colored some small pumpkins. The boys had lots of fun.

Beckam liked to go through and name all the parts of the house and even knock on the door.

Of course Sam had to see if you could actually carve a small pumpkin. Seems you can. Beckam loved it, especially the part on the top that went on and off.

Saturday 18th- the woodlands

On Saturday we sent the day up north in the Woodlands. It's a bit of a drive but has some fun outdoor shopping. And the boys love the horses aka neighs that patrol the area.

As we were leaving to go home Isaac spotted this car and said, "hey dad I want to drive that car". We thought it was pretty funny and told him he couldn't drive it but mom would take their picture by it. It's nice to know our kids have cheep taste, that way you don't feel as though you have to stress about future finances.
