Happy Chinese New Year!!

Sam has had a very busy month at work and finally took his day off for Chinese New Year. So we decided to go down to Brazos Bend and look for some alligators.

We found 8 alligators total.

What trip to go find alligators is complete without...

really big sticks. Isaac found one for each of us. He then hid them all when Sam told him we couldn't take them home so that we can find them again next time we go...

and now shaken out. (We found several in Beckam's diaper when we got to the car.)

Then finally it's time to leave the park.


So of course we had to go find some Chinese food to end our New Year's celebration.

The boys love Chinese food and especially Chinese restaurants that have large horses outside.

Yes, we know not the most authentic Chinese restaurant, but when your still fairly new to a place in terms of eateries sometimes it's best to go with something safe.

Playgroup

Today for playgroup we went to the park. It was a beautiful day and it was so nice to be outside. There was a play ground, miniature golf course and ducks. We had lots of fun. Thanks for planning such a fun playgroup Amy.

Yesterday I was getting ready to fold some laundry while the boys were watching a movie in our room. It took me a couple trips to the dryer to get the whole load and on one trip back I found Isaac sporting a pair of Sam's shorts. I thought it was pretty funny and had to take a few pictures.

Isaac informed me that we were all going to wear each others pants from now on. Beckam was going to wear his, he was going to wear mine, I was going to get Sam's pants, and poor Sam was going to have to wear Beckam's.

Let's Go Fly a Kite...jan.10th 09

Isaac has been asking if he could go fly this kite forever. Finally he asked when dad was actually home and it was windy but not rainy. However it was freezing cold so I took a few pictures and then Beckam and I ran home so we wouldn't freeze.

Baby Shower- jan.10th 09

My sweet friends Nora and Amy threw my friend Jasmine and I a baby shower. As you can see Jasmine went and had her baby early and so Charlie was able to attend the party as well. Nora and Amy did such a nice job the food was wonderful and the decorations were so cute. I got lots of nice things for the baby, and it was fun to spend a Saturday morning with the girls.

So I didn't want to jinx myself by posting this too soon, but Isaac and Beckam actually share their room now!! It's great they have been sleeping in the same room for about 2 weeks now. So if anyone wants to come visit we actually have our guestroom back and a new baby on the way.

We have 2 weeks and 6 days till we will have a new little one in our family. I don't think it has sunk in yet. The boys are just really excited to have Nana come to visit, I think that might be the only reason why Isaac asks when we are having the baby daily now.

My Sister's Birthday

It's my little sister's birthday today. It's funny because even though the boys had no idea her birthday was coming they have been making me think about her a lot lately. When Christen was a little girl she used to argue with my mom about were her waist was. When my mom tried to get her to wear her pants on her waist she would pull them down to were we all were our pants now and tell my mom that was were her waist was. Well apparently Beckam has picked up on this same idea. Every time I get him dressed or change his diaper his number 1 concern is were his pants are on his waist. He must have them below the line of his diaper so that the waist band is not touching any skin. If I forget he freaks out! It makes me laugh and makes me think about my sister several times a day. Isaac and Christen have always had a special bond ever since he was really little, well pretty much born. On the way to church this Sunday he said,"I want my mom." I told him he could have me when we got to church, thinking he just wanted me to sit in the back with he and Beckam. He was quick to reply no Christen's my mom. We were lucky to have Christen live two doors down from us in our last house before we moved from Utah. We all loved it especially the boys. We miss her!

Huntsville State Park

The first weekend in January we went up north to Huntsville State Park.

On the way there we stop in the Woodlands to get a little shopping done. Then dad ran into HEB and picked us up a picnic dinner to have that evening. It was really nice weather and it was a very pretty place. The boys ran around for hours before we drove home that night.

It's Christmas...

Even after Beckam finished off what was left of Santa's partially eaten cookies, dad still had to open his last few presents for him. Luckily Isaac had a little more stamina and was able to help open the presents for the baby when he was finished with his own.

We got lots and lots of fun presents!

Isaac and Beckam painted pictures for Sam to hang in his totally bare office at work. They were so proud, and dad loved them.

This year we even got a trampoline. We were all pretty excited. Just one of the perks of finally having our own backyard.

We had a really nice Christmas. After opening all our presents we went over to our friends the Bushman's for a little Christmas brunch. It was fun and really yummy. We played a lot with our new toys, especially the trampoline. Then that night we had a really yummy dinner, roast, mash potatoes and gravy, and rolls (plain and orange).
