sam pulled over on the side of the freeway when we saw a clear path to these hay barrels. i've been wanting to get some pictures with these and although i had little time i'm hooked and can't wait to find some more i can get people to climb. apparently sam said that the owner pulled out and was watching out little photo shoot from up the road just to make sure we didn't do anything to his barrel.

bastrop state park- thanksgiving weekend

we woke up on friday morning and decided to get out of town. so sam booked us a room at the super 8 in bastrop and off we went...

wood project #001, aka reindeer

so, recently it was that time of year again. the time when the landscapers trim all the trees in the area. last year i collected a few local branches and one of them i used to make truman mobile in his room. (don't think i've posted any pictures of truman's room ever, i'll have to do that) so this year i got really excited when i started seeing piles of "sticks" alone the roads. but this year it was taken to a whole new level involving pulling over on the side of the 99, hand saws, chain saws, tie down, and several (4) car loads of "sticks" (i use the "" because some of them could possible be classified as trees). my neighbors all think i'm crazy after watching me unload car after car load of tree branches. but i've been really excited thinking of all the cool things i could do with them. so this wednesday when sam took the day off to start our thanksgiving break we made our reindeer.

isaac and beckam helped pick out all the parts for the respective reindeer. beckam's is rudolph, and isaac's is comet. i was a slacker with the pictures i didn't even get finished pictures but i will soon and i'll add them to the post. they turned out awesome and now we just need to make one for truman.

dad's first ever turkey

sam's dad cooks the turkey at his house and for years i've been hoping that this would be a tradition that we would carry on at our house. finally our time came and yes, he did it. sam cooked our first ever turkey, and he already has ideas on how to improve the next one. he decide to cook it on the sunday before thanksgiving just in case the first one turned out bad. but he did a pretty good job and we are still eating it.

on the 17th we had isaac's team party.
we went to texas traditions had a little less than okay dinner.

and got isaac's first ever trophy.

(beckam was a little jelous.)

ended up that isaac wasn't very impressed with the trophy.

he thought it was much too small,

and that it should've had a soccer player on it.

but i must say we all loved having isaac play soccer this fall and

are looking forward to more this spring.

truman is now 9 months old and i'm trying to figure out (again) what's best to feed a 9 month old. so he mainly lives on yogurt, like his brothers before him. but he has an advantage they now have "yogurt meals" they have fruit, vegtable, and yogurt all in one. (strawberry/carrott, apple/butternut squash, banana/sweet potato) i tried a bit of one thinking it would be good for me. i thought it was horrible, but truman seem to like them just fine.

dad and the big boys went and had a muddy morning at the park while truman napped.

they all came home covered in mud. sam apparently dropped beckam into some while carrying him. beckam wasn't very happy and has since told me on more than one occasion that he does not like mud.
