In fact the day she came we had gotten a package in the mail. It was from aunt Christen it was Isaac's birthday present. He tried to call her nearly a million times that day to make sure the package was for him and that it wasn't something for baby Truman. He wasn't able to get a hold of her at work, or on her cell phone, and he even called Nana to tell her to have Christen call if she heard from her. Little did he know that it was because she was on a plane coming to see him. The boys were so excited to see her when dad got home from work with her.

Early opening of a birthday present. Just what he wanted!!
She came in on a Wednesday night and stayed until Sunday evening. Here are a few highlights from her trip...
On Friday we walked over to the park it was a little windy but still very fun. Beckam fell asleep on the way to the park so we decided to stay until he finished his nap so that could wake up and play for a little while. We even took our lunch and had a picnic at the park. On the way home Isaac decide he didn't want to ride his bike and squished into the stroller with Beckam and hooked his bike onto the stroller. He does this to me all the time too and when it is windy it gets kind of hard to push. It was nice to have aunt Christen there to take a turn.

On Saturday it was one of the coldest windiest days we have had the whole time we have lived here, go figure. I never thought Truman would get any use from Beckam's snow suit but I was sure glad I had it.
We started by visiting the Sam Houston monument we had never done that before. He is 77 feet tall including the base, pretty impressive. Christen climbed up on the base and so of course the boys had to join her. Sam said if anyone asked they were her kids.

The whole gang.

Couldn't resist putting this one on. He is so dang cute!
Then we went to Huntsville State park.
Yes my sister is gorgeous

Christen had never seen Kung Fu Panda so the boys were excited to watch that with her. She also got to watch a few starwars movies, as well as Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility.
I have been slow at posting because I wanted Sam to post about this weekend so he could tell you about the trip to the airport. I didn't want to wait anymore and so I decided I would start this one and have Sam add his story. We had a great time and loved the surprise, everyone should just show up on our doorstep like Christen! Here's Sam...
OK, here's my addition that Taryn has been pestering me about. By the way, Taryn said above that she and Christen watched Pride and Prejudice, but in reality they put it in and fell asleep, and I watched it by myself. You know how obsessed I am with Jane Austen (sp?). Anyway, on to the airport.
Christen's flight left at 6:00 on Sunday, so I had suggested that we leave around 4. It takes about an hour to get to the airport, so that sounded about right. I started playing with the boys and Taryn and Christen started talking, and next thing you know I was getting yelled at from downstairs. Never happens, so I was totally caught off guard. After the shock wore off, I heard something about 4:45. Sweet. I ran downstairs, Christen printed off the boarding pass, and I began an hour of consistent speeding along our fine Texas roadways. Me, Christen, the boys, and Taryn's phone, which made it hard to inform her about the events that were about to unfold.
We made pretty good time along the tollway up to the north side of town, and I was feeling pretty good about it. Which is when things usually go in the can, as they did when I ran out of gas several miles from the terminal. At 5:30. With the last gas station 1.1 miles behind me (I measured on a map, honest). So after a moment of panic and a choice word or two under my breath, I got out and pushed the car as Christen steered into a driveway, left the boys and Christen, and took off running back to the gas station. Things are a lot further on foot than in a car, in case anyone was wondering. I ran straight to the gas station, but stopped crossing the road in front of it to knock on a taxi driver's window. He hesitantly rolled it down a little for the sweaty out-of-breath weirdo in the middle of the road, and I asked him to wait for me while I got gas and then take me back. I asked nice, but he rejected me and drove off. With memories of my dating life, I ran to the gas station, pumped 5 gallons of gas into a can, and started running back. No taxis to harass this time, so I just started running. 5:40.
Not only are distances much longer on foot compared with in a car, but distances are much further on foot with a five gallon, leaky gas canister than without. And smellier as gas sloshes on your hands and pants (awesome!). I had to walk a few short legs on the way back, but toughed it out like the out-of-shape champ that I am and got back pretty quick. Poured the gas in as I struggled to not have a heart attack, jumped in, rolled down the windows so I didn't die of asphyxiation, and took off. 5:50.
Flipping a U-turn, driving at posted speeds, and being courteous to all around me, I got her to the gate at 5:55. We said a long, heartfelt goodbye (She yelled bye over her shoulder as she bolted for the door), and off she went to try and get to the plane without getting tackled by security as she dashed through the airport. I went to get gas, and she texted me a few minutes later. She'd run through security, which luckily had no line and an understanding worker, ran to the gate, found out they'd changed the gate, ran to the right gate, and flew out and home to Utah. The flight left at 6:04, and the 4 made all the difference. We normally do things calmly and plan way ahead, so Taryn wanted me to chronicle an important exception to our usual lifestyle. I'll stop talking now.

Great story! Y'all are a riot!
Hilarious! That is SO out of character for you, I proud of you for charting this unfamiliar territory so deftly. Sam, you and Eric will have to watch P&P together, he is also a big J.A. fan!
