OK, Taryn is making me write another post. It's been a while, so I can probably handle it.
Since Truman was born, I have been putting Isaac and Beckam to bed at night pretty much all of the time, which is usually fun, even if I feel like I'm too tired to go through the stories/singing/prayer routine some nights. I usually tell them that if they're quiet and stay in their beds, I'll come check on them in a few minutes (Beckam usually insists that it be two minutes, as he is two years old and that's the only number worth any attention in his opinion).
So a few weeks ago, we went through the usual drill, and I told them I'd be in to check on them in two minutes. I went into the media room and watched TV for what ended up being more like five minutes (horrible father), and then went to check on them. I peeked in, said goodnight, and no one answered. Isaac was asleep, and Beckam was.... ummm, where was Beckam?
He often gets out of bed and goes downstairs, in the playroom to play with toys, or any other number of things without telling anyone (you guys remember when he went out to throw rocks in the front yard), so I figured he was around. I walked downstairs, but didn't find him anywhere. I went back up to the toy room, no luck. Checked the guest bedroom and the bathroom, still no Beckam. I went back to his room and looked in the closet, on the side of the dresser, and even under his headboard behind the matress. Nothing. So now I'm starting to worry a bit. I start calling for him, start re-checking all the places again, and I'm getting a little tense. I don't want ot tell Taryn yet, cause she freaks out about little stuff like losing kids, but I'm really getting pretty panicky by now. I start checking doors to see if they're locked and finally tell Taryn, and pretty soon we're both running around the house yelling for him. I check the backyard, run down the street a little ways, still nothing. I'm about to die, thinking someone broke into my house and took my kid and all sorts of irrational stuff like that.
Finally I came back into the house and went upstairs, and Taryn was up in the boys' room. She had the closet light on making sure he wasn't hiding in there, and when I walked in the light was shining right on his bed. And this is what I saw...

Little goofball climbed up on his headboard, settled in, and fell asleep. I looked right past him several times and never noticed him. I probably almost hit my head on his feet when looking under the headboard, not on top. Almost had a heart attack, but it was a pretty good laugh once we calmed down a little. Taryn played with these pictures a bit, obviously, this isn't exactly what it looked like. We live in the normal world, not photoshop land. That might freak me out a little more, and I don't need any more near heart attacks for a while. Never gets dull.

Too funny...and scary in the beginning! I'm glad he was sleeping soundly.
That is really funny. Jake and I got a good laugh out of that.
I'm glad you clarified the photoshop thing, I was beginning to think he slipped into a comic book.
So glad you found him! : )
That is soooooo funny!
I love it! I bet you have even more gray hairs after that one. The boys are getting too big, make them stop. They are growing up toooooooo fast!
