day 2- fredricksberg and inks lake state park

Day 2 we spent the first part of the day walking up and down main street Fredricksberg, checking out lots of the shops.

donuts
We started a tradition, well I don't remember exactly when but we've had it for a while. We go on "donut hunts" almost every Saturday morning. My mom read an article in a family magazine about a dad who would take his kids on a "donut hunt" to give mom a break on Saturday mornings. Some how I generally go maybe it's because I love donuts, or just because I love doing things with my boys.
Checking out some cool seats in front of one of the shops.

Riding the neigh.

We had lunch at a little bbq window.

Getting ready to drive to our next destination. Isaac asked if he could hold Truman for a minute before we left. What cute brothers.

The boys fell asleep on the way to Ink's Lake. Beckam woke up right before we got there but Isaac napped a bit longer.

Hiking up around the side of the lake. Right after I took this picture Beckam said, "that's a good one". So I took his word for it and didn't make them stay posed for another.

My Isaac boy.

One of the 8 rock pictures I took. If I am trying to get the boy to look at me for a picture, often I will ask them to show me their rock of whatever else they have at the time. Consequently Beckam showed me rock after rock and wanted me to take pictures of them all. I finally told him that I thought I had enough. That's why we only have 8 instead of 15 or 20.

Baby Truman

Since we are from Utah the water was plenty warm enouogh to take a dip in. Sam really wanted to do some cliff jumping, but I was holding Truman and the boys both wanted to get in too so no jumping happened this trip.

I kept Beckam out of the water as log as I cou;d so that Sam and Isaac could go out a little deeper but it only lasted so long. Beckam was eager to join and just kept running in and out of the water as soon as we let him.

3 of our 4 boys.
After they got out we made a quick dash to the car with dad carrying both wet, cold boys.

On the way home we stopped at the Galleria mall on the outskirts of Austin to have dinner. We found this Italian place that ended up being really really good. We'll defiantly go there again. Sam ordered lasagna and I am not a big fan but this was delicious! The best lasagna I've ever had hands down. ( I have tried a fair amount of the stuff because Sam quite likes it and always has me try a bite, glad I did this time.) I would even order it myself on another occasion. I had a really yummy spinach salad and the boys shared spaghetti and meatballs. Isaac ate the meat balls and Beck ate the spaghetti it worked out great. Oh and we also had the garlic knots, yum!

We made it home late that night after a stop at our local Wal-mart and then HEB trying to get ready for the Easter Bunny to visit. The boys were asleep and Sam ran in trying to find anything Easter left. Good thing I had gotten a few things already, but next year I'm sure we will be more on top of that. Well we'll see.

We had a fun trip checking out more of "Hill Country" and I'm sure we'll be headed back that way soon.

Y'all are really putting us to shame. I have done Fredericksburg but I've never even heard of Inks Lake! I can't believe I'm going to have to recruit people from Utah as our travel planners.
