Since it was Easter weekend Sam had Friday off so we decide to make a 2 day adventure of it. We decided to head up to the Fredricksberg area outside of Austin. When we got up there we had enough time to go check out Enchanted Rock before dinner and bed.
Enchanted Rock is the largest rock in Texas.

Beckam making sure mom knows not to touch the pokies.
Isaac and Dad checking out the view on the other side.
Beckam and Dad checking out a view on yet another side. Not even from our freeways (long story).
The boys checking out some big rocks on the bigger rock.
Under the rock.
Mom and Truman watching.
The boys found a good spot to climb up to. Dad took Isaac and left poor little Beckam behind. Who was very unhappy about this, but not nearly as unhappy as he was going to be.
I backed up so I could get a shot of Isaac and Dad up top. Little Beckam still standing on his little rock wanting for his turn.

Next thing I know I am looking at Beckam and he is getting down from his little rock and heading towards me. Mind you I am still a little ways away so I could get pictures of Sam and Isaac who are up top. Suddenly he trips and falls forward smashing his head right into a rock. I run over with Truman strapped to me and grab him. He's crying and bleeding a lot. I scream for Sam to come down, and a family who had older teenagers climbing the rocks as well came over to help me. They took Truman and gave me some water to wash Beckam's head off so we could try to see if he was okay. I pulled his shirt off so I would have something to hold against his head to help stop the bleeding. Sam finally got down and Beckam just wanted his dad to hold him and for me to leave his head alone. The bleeding slowed down pretty quickly but he was still crying a lot. We decide to hurry down quick so that we could make sure he was okay ie check his pupils, etc. Before we set off though Isaac being the good big brother that he is found out which rock had hurt his brother and gave it a good kick and told it not to hurt his brother ever again. He was quite proud of himself. Sam carried Beckam down quizzing him the whole to make sure he seemed okay. I carried Truman on my front and the backpack and the kid pack on my back, all while pulling Isaac along so we could move quickly and avoid more injuries. We quickly decide Beckam seemed fine and he even insisted on getting down and doing some of the hiking himself before we made it to the car. As you can imagine I felt awful. Sacrificing my poor little Beckam for the good of a picture. Not that I would have been guaranteed a save even if I would have been right there. But thankfully he was completely fine and really to run around in no time. Sorry Beck!!
Still just wanting Daddy.
You had to put money in the telescope to work. So here is Isaac checking out the other side maybe they hide the view in there.

Even with Beckam's crash we had lots of fun at Enchanted Rock and I'm sure we will go again. Now I just need to order Beckam some better hiking shoes.

Fun! I love that y'all are so adventurous. We, the native Texans, still haven't been to Enchanted Rock. Y'all are passing us up!
Ok now I am convinced that Isaac's hair is not going to be an acceptable length by the time you get here. He looks like a little goof ball, Beck can pull if off much better.
Poor Beckam, but second kids are always the toughest.
Beckam and Dad checking out a view on yet another side is a classic- you ought to enter that in some contest but then about all of your pics are amazing.
and by the way...long live the buzz cut!
